Arts' Karts Race

Time to register and build your Arts’ Kart!

The Jefferson Arts Committee (JAC) is thrilled to host its second annual "Arts’ Karts" Derby race to be held in conjunction with the 28th annual Jefferson Township Day celebration on July 12 at 10 am (assembly time is 9 am) on the driveway slope in front of the Jefferson Township High School, 1010 Weldon Road, Oak Ridge, NJ.  Karts are unpowered, relying completely upon gravity to move!

Children 5 to 13 years of age are eligible to participate by entering their 2013 kart, purchasing an easy-to-assemble kart kit from the JAC for $45 (supplies are limited), or construct their own karts according to Cub Scout Push Car guidelines in order to compete.  There is a $7.50 entry fee to participate, and participants must wear their own helmet and will receive an event tee-shirt.

Each participant will receive a medal, and category trophies will be awarded in a ceremony on the main stage on the Jefferson Township High School field at 1:30 pm.

Registration forms and the Cub Scout Push Car general building guidelines are available at www.jeffersonarts.org under Registration Forms; and flyers/registration forms can be found in the display racks of the Jefferson Township Municipal Building, the Public Library, and Camp Jefferson.  Registrations and entry fees must be received by July 1.

If you are interested in more information, wish to purchase one of the limited kart kits still available, want to become an event sponsor, or wish to volunteer as a timer, starter, judge, kart handler, or race tent administrator contact JAC coordinator George Damerel at 973-697-8898 or gdamerel@yahoo.com
