The Jefferson Arts Committee is pleased to announce it's 2008 Free Gazebo Summer Concert series!
Rehearsals are underway for our summer production of Neil Simon's "RUMORS", a fast paced comedy featuring our best players (listing alphabetically): Lou Cerny, Jordan Cimbal, Krysia Dour, Thom Florio, Lynda Kolvik, Craig Moore, Dina Nicholas, Danielle Perez, and Rob Vander Ploeg. If you saw them last year in "Arsenic and Old Lace" and found them delightfully funny, you are sure to think they are hysterically funny in "Rumors".
"RUMORS" SHOW DATES: July 25-26-27, August 1, 2 and 3, Friday & Saturday evenings at 8 PM, Sunday matinees at 2 PM.
ROLE AVAILABLE IN "RUMORS" for a 2nd police officer - female aged 20's to 40's This role is a small part, the age is very flexible and we may even consider a male. TECHNICAL DIRECTOR, STAGE MANAGER, SET DRESSER/DESIGNER, LIGHTING & SOUND CREWS, STAGE CONSTRUCTION POSITIONS AVAILABLE The Stage Manager, Technical Director and set dresser are needed immediately. We will consider someone without prior stage experience, but the candidates must be an organized and detail oriented person, available for rehearsals which are scheduled for Sunday afternoons, and various evenings, Mondays through Fridays. Our Artistic Director is Marvin Silbersher, a professional director who past credits include a long term association with CBS television network in NYC. What a marvelous opportunity to learn and work with a veteran stage and screen director. Nice chance for teens to do community work over the summer. SEEKING A LOAN OF LIVING ROOM FURNITURE FOR THE "RUMORS" SET A sofa, a love seat, a table, a lamp, a framed painting or 2, the style we are looking for is on the modern, sleeek, upscale side, as directed in Neil Simon's script. SUNDAY BRUNCH WITH A "RUMORS" MATINEE - What's theatre without the pre-show meal? Skip the drive and dine locally. We would like to make a Sunday matinee a very special event by holding a brunch prior to the performance of Rumors. A chairperson and committee members for this event is needed to undertake this project. "WOMANLESS BEAUTY PAGEANT" - Leanne Kolvik is chairing this great fundraising event, scheduled for the Fall, which can get off the ground provided with can find the MEN needed to compete in the pageant. Yes, I did say men!! If you have a husband, brother, friend, son, uncle, cousin, or friend of a friend, that you can convince him to dress up, make-up and compete in the talent and evening wear competition.
