Activities for all ages await you at Jefferson Township Day '07

The 21st anniversary celebration of Jefferson Township Day will offer people of all ages fun and excitement.  The event will take place on Saturday, July 14 at the Jefferson Township High School fields located at 1010 Weldon Road in Oak Ridge, NJ.  All field activities open at 12 noon.

Children can participate in the first annual Judged Decorated Box Parade that begins at 11 AM as part of the annual township parade up Weldon Road.  Just decorate a cardboard box and wear it in the township parade and compete for trophies.  You could be a TV set, an airplane, a box of popcorn ' let your imagination run wild.

On the fields of the Jefferson Township High School have fun bouncing, jumping, and playing on the several huge inflatable activities such as the Moonwalk, the Pedestal Joust, and Bouncy Boxing. 

Children up to age 15 can try their skills and vie for prizes in the fishing contest being sponsored by the North Jersey Chapter of Trout Unlimited at the Weldon Road Pond beginning at 1 pm.

Pre-schoolers and children up to 6th grade can enjoy a dozen challenging games of skill and trade in their winning tickets for prizes at the Jefferson Arts Committee's children's game tent.  

Everyone's invited to try to climb to the top of the 25-foot rock-climbing wall with three different climbing routes that can be used simultaneously and a state-of'the-art patented auto-belaying system, which insures the safety of all participants.   Appropriate for all ages and abilities.

Several pre-registered teams will face off in an Irish Road Bowling Tournament on Catholic Charities Way off Weldon Road.

Don't forget to buy a 50/50 raffle for the grand prize to be awarded just before the huge aerial fireworks begin.  Remember, parking is free throughout the day as is admission to the fields.  However, beginning at 6 PM, there will be a $2 admission fee per adult and a $1 admission fee for children at all gates.   Donations will gladly be accepted to help cover the costs of the day's and evening's events.
