Jefferson Community Players offer "The Gift of the Magi" for Dec 1 and 2
The Jefferson Community Players, under the direction of Jean Simonson,
will present "The Gift of the Magi", a one act play based upon
O. Henry's short story about the true and unselfish love of a young married
couple as they prepare to celebrate their first Christmas together as husband
and wife. The free 30 minute play will be performed at 10 A.M., 12 P.M.
and 2 P.M. on December 1 with a free encore performance on December 2 at
2 P.M. All performances held at the Jefferson Senior Center, 54 Schoolhouse
Road, Milton.
The cast features real life husband and wife, Jerry and Carrie Gajda, as Jim and Della Young, Lynda Kovik as their neighbor, Mrs. Boyd, with Christine Dour and Tina Lawrence completing the cast as narrators and various supporting characters. Following each performance on December 1 will be 2 Victorian Tea Service, for a charge of $5 per person. Tea service seatings are at 10:30, 12:30 and 2:30. Reservations are required and an adult must accompany children under the age of 12. Throughout the day, the Players will sell "Stuff It Yourself" 8" plush teddy bears and a selection of printed shirts. The play and tea services on December 1 are part of the Jefferson Arts Committee's third annual Christmas in the Village event, when holiday and cultural activities are held at several venues in the township.
