Entries sought for Grandma’s Cookie Contest
Think of Christmas and the holidays and you naturally think about cookies! Perhaps that’s why the Jefferson Arts Committee is hosting Grandma’s Cookie Contest in conjunction with the third annual Christmas in the Village event to be celebrated in Jefferson Township on Saturday, December 1, 2007.
To enter, bake two dozen cookies using Grandma’s recipe and place in a disposable container. Supply a picture of Grandma and you along with a recipe card listing the ingredients. Enter one of the five age divisions: 4-5 years of age, 6-7, 8-11, 12-14, and 15 through adult by filling out a registration form accompanied by a $4 entry fee.
Entry forms will be distributed to all township schools, but you can register now by picking up a registration form at the Jefferson Township Public Library, Municipal Building Lobby, or Camp Jefferson’s Recreation Department brochure racks. Just indicate the type of entry and the age of the person entering on the form along with the other required information and mail it to Debi Merz, 4 Ross Court, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438 no later than November 24th.
All cookie entries must be dropped off at the Public Library on Friday evening, November 30th between 6 and 8 PM. Prize ribbons will be awarded in each division for first, second and third place, and the public can view all entries and winners on Saturday, December 1st at the Library between 10 AM and 4 PM. All cookie entries will be sold from 4 to 5 PM with all proceeds to benefit future Jefferson Arts Committee events.
