Enjoy the free entertainment at Christmas in the Village

Christmas in the Village will be celebrated in Jefferson Township on Saturday, December 1st at many venues in the municipality, orchestrated by the Jefferson Arts Committee, the Jefferson Township Recreation Department, and many volunteers. With free admission, free parking, and free shuttle service between most venues, it is sure to be a day filled with live entertainment, exciting activities, shopping, food, and refreshments.

The entertainment schedule at specific venues is tentatively scheduled as follows. Look for updates and a final program with times online at www.jeffersonarts.org or www.jeffersontownship.net (Departments-Recreation and Events), and program brochures will be available at the Jefferson Township Public Library and Municipal Building's display racks as well as distributed the day of the event at all venues.

Jefferson Township Public Library – 1030 Weldon Road: Free performances by the Arthur Stanlick School's Select Chorus at 10 am; Voices in the Wilderness at 11 am; Jinx the Clown at 12 noon, 1 and 2 pm; Morris County Dance Academy at 1:45 pm, and the Jefferson Township High School Madrigal Singers at 3 pm.

Jefferson Township Senior Center – 54 Schoolhouse Road: 10:30 AM, 12:30 PM, and 2:30 PM free performances of O'Henry's beloved story of love and unselfishness “The Gift of the Magi” performed by the Jefferson Community Players. A optional Christmas Cup of Tea service will accompany each performance at a cost of $5 per person, and reservations are required by calling 973-697-2750.

American Legion Post #423 – 28 Legion Road: Free performances by Rock Bands with Holiday Spirit: TV Wasteland at 11:45 am, AboveAllFallen at 12:30 pm, Stop the Clock at 1:15 pm, Enthrall at 2 pm, and Aesthetic Standby at 2:45 pm.

Jefferson Township Museum – 315 Dover Milton Road: Free Melodeon music played by Margaret Brandell with Jeff See on guitar at 10 am; Tim Adrianson with Judy Adrianson on viola at 11 am; George Pantelides at 12 noon; Mike Yannuzzi at 1 pm; and Dianna Filan at 2 pm. There will also be a performance by the Berkshire Valley Presbyterian Church Choir at 3 pm.

St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church – 153 Milton Road: Free performances by White Rock School Music Ensembles at 10 am, the Jefferson Township Middle School Band at 11 am, The Disciples of Love Praise Band at 12 noon, the Jefferson Township High School Chamber Ensemble at 1 pm, Covenant Brass at 2 pm, and the Jefferson Township Community Band at 3 pm.

Milton United Methodist Church – 316 Dover Milton Roaad: Free performances by the United Methodist Church of Lake Hopatcong's Praise Band at 12 noon, Jefferson Township Community Chorus at 1 pm, the Milton United Methodist Church's Adult Handbell Choir at 2 pm with a repeat performance at 3 pm, the Milton United Methodist Church's Youth Chimes Choir at 2:20 pm with a repeat performance at 3:20 pm, and The Brown Sister Trio (Madison, McKenna, and Morgan) at 2:45 pm.

Milton First Aid Squad – 45 Milton Road: Free performances during breakfast service (7 am to noon) by Janet Breckenridge on keyboard and The Wandering Troubadours from the Oak Ridge Presbyterian Church (Lynda MacDonald, Nancy Harm, and Dave McDonald)

Camp Jefferson – 81 Weldon Road: Free Visit with Santa, Mrs. Claus, and Rudolf with holiday music, and a model train display

Jefferson Township Gazebo – 1033 Weldon Road: Free performance by White Rock School's Choir, a holiday sing-along, and a reading of “The Night Before Christmas” by Richard Yocum. Mayor Russ Felter's 2007 Citizens of the Year will participate in the lighting of the Township Christmas Tree, and Santa himself will arrive at Town Hall on his sleigh pulled by Jefferson Township Fire Company No. 1's firetruck!
