Service organizations welcome to brag on Jefferson Township Day

It is imperative today for service organizations to get the word out to the public about their purpose in the community.   The Jefferson Arts Committee wishes to highlight community involvement of its service organizations at the 21st annual celebration of Jefferson Township Day.  Scheduled for Saturday, July 14 (rain date Sunday, July 15) at the Jefferson Township High School fields located on Weldon Road, service organizations are being offered a free space to let the public know who they are and what they do.

The only restriction is that nothing can be offered for sale with the space used to illustrate or demonstrate the services and activities that the organization performs, past accomplishments, current activities, what is being planned, the distribution of hand-out materials and/or literature about the organization, membership applications, etc.  If the organization wishes to sell items that promote their organization such as tee-shirts, hats, mugs, etc., they may do so by submitting an application accompanied by a check for $25 for a 12 foot by 16 foot space.  If electricity is required, there is a $40 charge for a 110-volt outlet, but spaces with electricity are very limited.

A variety of activities and buying opportunities will take place during the daylong celebration  -- demonstrations, arts/crafts/merchandise vendors, exhibits, a parade, children’s games, inflatable activities, a rock wall, live entertainment, and food offerings.  The day’s events will culminate with a concert under the stars followed by a huge aerial fireworks display.

For more information on opportunities for service organizations on July 14 contact Jefferson Township Day Chairman John Focacci at 973-697-2023.
