Arsenic and Old Lace comes to the Jefferson stage
The Jefferson Community Players, under the direction of Craig Moore, will present their production of Joseph Kesselring's classic play "Arsenic and Old Lace" on August 3, 4, 10, 11 at 8 p.m. and a matinée performance August 5 at 2 p.m. at the Jefferson Township High School located at 1010 Weldon Road Oak Ridge, NJ 07438.
Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for Seniors and Students (with I.D.), and $8 for children under 8. Tickets may be purchased at the door or by calling Sheila Rhoades at 973-697-6732.
The play is a black comedy about Mortimer Brewster (Jerry Gajda), a New York drama critic, who is shocked to discover that his two kindly old aunts (Krysia Dour and Lynda Kolvik) have been secretly poisoning lonely old men and burying the bodies in the basement of their Brooklyn home. Now he must deal with one brother who believes he's Teddy Roosevelt (Lou Cerny), another brother who just escaped from prison (Craig Stevens) with his drunken surgeon accomplice (Jordan Cimbal), a minister's daughter intent on marrying him (Danielle Perez), and a police officer who really wants to be a playwright (Thom Florio), all while trying to keep himself from going as insane as the rest of his family. The play also features Jeff Rattner, John Mejia, Rob Vander Ploeg, and Vania Sousa.
This show represents the JCP's return to the main stage of the Jefferson Township High School auditorium after a two-year absence. Come out to see the show and support community theater in Jefferson Township.
