Jefferson's Own Community Chorus and Band to Perform on Jefferson Township Day

The Jefferson Arts Committee is pleased to announce that the Jefferson Township Community Chorus with Director Cherwyn Ambuter and Assistant Director/Accompanist Margaret Brandell will perform in concert on Saturday, July 9 at 2:45 pm on the main stage set up on the fields of the Jefferson Township High School, 1010 Weldon Road.  Through the years they have sung traditional folk songs, Broadway show tunes, sacred music, ethnic tunes, popular songs, and classical music.

Formed in April of 2001 by the Jefferson Arts Committee, The Jefferson Township Community Chorus has attracted many township adults, Jefferson Township High School students and alumni to its ranks over the years. Many members belong to church choirs and just want to branch out to more secular music.

Following the Chorus’ performance, the Jefferson Township Community Band and Jazz Band under the direction of Pete Tummillo will perform at 3:30 pm on the main stage.

The Jefferson Township Community Band was formed in 1992 under the direction of Peter Tummillo, then Director of the Jefferson Township High School instrumental and marching bands. The music encompasses the classics, Broadway musicals, standard marches, and patriotic salutes.

Come enjoy a day full of live entertainment on Jefferson Township Day beginning at 12:40 pm on the Pride of Jefferson stage, 1 pm on the main stage and the Young Rockers stage, and 2 pm under the tent.
