The Jefferson Township Day Parade is shaping up!

The Jefferson Township Day Parade is shaping up!

The 24th annual Jefferson Township Day celebration is getting closer; and Parade Chairperson Jeanne Hantson has been working hard to ensure that the parade lineup is exciting for everyone to come out and enjoy on Saturday, July 10, 2010 beginning at 11 AM on Weldon Road in Oak Ridge, NJ.

Right now, the lineup will be led by Town Crier Bill Joseph and the Jefferson Township High School’s Golden Falcons Marching Band.  The following groups will be participating either as marchers, in vehicles, on bicycles, or on floats:   a Bicycle Parade and Contest overseen by the Joseph F. Lamb Knights of Columbus Council, Blue Star Mother’s of America North Jersey #3 chapter, Alpine Montessori School, Loving and Learning Child Care Center, the Jefferson Township Recreational Cheerleading Association, Diva Dance Dynamics Studio, The Fairways Lawn Chair Drill Team, Diane’s Dance Academy 23, Cub Scout Pack 49 from the Milton United Methodist Church, Kiddie Academy of Jefferson, Oak Ridge Martial Arts, Fusion Drum and Bugle Corps, the Jefferson Community Players, Military Transport Association of New Jersey, the North Jersey Jeep Club, the Wanderers Car Club, the New Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service, Jefferson Township Fire Companies No. 1 and No. 2, the Milton First Aid Squad, and the Jefferson Rescue Squad.

If you or your organization is interested in participating in this old-fashioned township parade, a Parade Participation form can be found at the Jefferson Arts Committee’s website www.Jeffersontownship.net in the Special Features section.  In addition, everything you want to know about Jefferson Township Day XXIV can also be found on the site in the Press Releases section.  Contact the Arts Committee at artscommittee@jeffersonarts.org or by calling 973-697-2032 or 973-697-3828.

Please note that Weldon Road will be closed for the parade at approximately 10:30 AM and will re-open at approximately 11:45 AM so plan your route accordingly.  Attendees and participants are asked to follow the posted signs and directions of all Police Officers and Parade Marshalls.

Gather up your family and friends for a fun-filled day and evening in Jefferson Township on July 10th.
