Everything is better with horns as Scoot on Down comes to rock Jefferson Township

Everything’s better with horns as Scoot on Down comes to rock the Jefferson Gazebo

The Jefferson Arts Committee will present its 2010 free summer Gazebo concert series with its sixth event on Friday evening, August 20th beginning at 7 pm at the township gazebo located in the Jefferson Township Municipal Complex at 1033 Weldon Road, Oak Ridge, NJ.

Taking the stage will be the dynamic band Scoot on Down.  Originally a 10-piece band, Scoot on Down first took the stage as Muskat 'n' Funk (a Chicago™ Tribute band) on May 15th, 1999 at the annual Lafayette Township Day Celebration. New songs added some variety to the Chicago™ heavy set list as Muskat 'n' Funk announced the name change to Scoot On Down and rocked Jefferson Township Day on July 10, 1999.

The band re-formed later that year with a simple mission... play music not normally heard live anymore and they continue to do so.  From Chicago and James Brown to Hughes Corporation and the Jackson Five, from the Eurythmics and Midnight Oil to Reel Big Fish and Bon Jovi. Nothing was or is off-limits and the band quickly discovered that "Everything's Better With Horns!"  Regulars at Yo & Papa’s in Morristown, the band, always a friend of the Arts Committee, returns to Jefferson Township for this free summer concert.  Check out their website at http://www.scootondown.com/index.htm

The concert will be moved to the White Rock Elementary School located at 2 Francine Place (off Ridge Road and White Rock Boulevard) in Milton/Oak Ridge in the event of inclement weather.  Call 973-697-3828 for weather updates. Bring along a blanket/chair for your comfort. Non-alcoholic beverages, picnic dinners, and snacks permitted unless the concert is moved indoors due to weather conditions.
