Entries sought for annual Grandma’s Cookie Contest at Christmas in the Village
Think of Christmas and the holidays and you naturally think about cookies! Perhaps that’s why the Jefferson Arts Committee is hosting Grandma’s Cookie Contest once again in conjunction with the 5th annual Christmas in the Village event to be celebrated in Jefferson Township on Saturday, December 4, 2010.
To enter, bake two dozen cookies using Grandma’s recipe (or a favorite aunt’s, etc.) and place in a disposable container. Supply a picture of Grandma and you along with a recipe card listing the ingredients and enter – all ages welcome.
To enter, pre-registration is required accompanied by a $5 entry fee. Entry forms will be available at the Jefferson Township Public Library, Municipal Building Lobby, or Camp Jefferson’s Recreation Department brochure racks. Entry forms can be printed from www.jeffersonarts.org under the “Special Features” tab in the upper right hand corner of the website page. Checks can be made payable to the Jefferson Arts Committee and to Debi Merz, 4 Ross Court, Oak Ridge, NJ 07438 no later than November 27.
All cookie entries must be dropped off at the Jefferson Township Fire Company No.1’s firehouse, 152 Milton Road in Milton/Oak Ridge on Friday evening, December 3 between 6 and 8 PM. Prize ribbons will be awarded for first, second and third place based on taste, texture, and TLC (tender loving care); and the public can view all entries and winners on Saturday, December 4 at the Fire House between 10 AM and 4 PM. All cookie entries will be sold from 3 to 4 PM with all proceeds to benefit future Jefferson Arts Committee events.
