Aunt Debbie’s Pie Contest to become part of Christmas in the Village this year
The Jefferson Arts Committee is pleased to announce that it will add a third contest to its Christmas in the Village event this holiday season on Saturday, December 4, 2010 with Aunt Debbie’s Pie Contest, named in honor of the late Debbie Smead.
Individuals in age groups 12-14, 15-18, 21-55, and 56+ are invited to enter by baking a homemade berry, cream, or nut pie in a disposal pie pan and including the recipe for the pie crust and filling. Judging will be based on flakiness of the crust, taste, and presentation with ribbons/medals awarded for first, second, and third places in each of the three categories.
To enter, pre-registration is required accompanied by a $5 entry fee with checks made payable to the Jefferson Arts Committee. Entry forms will be available at the Jefferson Township Public Library, Municipal Building Lobby, or Camp Jefferson’s Recreation Department brochure racks. Entry forms can also be printed from www.jeffersonarts.org from the “Special Features” section located in the upper right hand corner of the webpage. All pie entries must be dropped off at the Jefferson Township Fire Company No. 1’s firehouse, 152 Milton Road in Milton/Oak Ridge on Friday evening, December 3 between 6 and 8 PM. Prize ribbons will be awarded, and the public can view all entries and winners on Saturday, December 4 at the Fire House between 10 AM and 4 PM.
